Laugh At Yourself And At Life

Posted By Greg Hankerson On 4th April 2007 @ 11:49 In Happiness, Enlightenment | 5 Comments

Laugh at yourself and at life. Not in the spirit of derision or whining self-pity, but as a remedy, a miracle drug, that will ease your pain, cure your depression, and help you to put in perspective that seemingly terrible defeat and worry with laughter at your predicaments, thus freeing your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come. Never take yourself too seriously. -Og Mandino

I sometimes find myself laughing when I hurt myself on my dirtbike, or when I drop something and it breaks. Some people might find this strange, but it sure feels better than getting angry. I always say, if I can’t laugh at myself, what else am I going to laugh at? Life is hilarious!

The journey loses its spark when we take things too seriously. Maintaining a sense of humour keeps things new and fresh.

No matter what the problem is, it will shrink in size if we are able to laugh at it. There is so much absurdity around that we have to!

Laughter is great medicine. A good reminder for all of us to lighten up a little.

yeah greg, I always chuckle when you drop that $10,000 one of a kind family heirloom and break it, or when you wreck on your dirtbike.
