Depending on People

“Depending on people to care about what I say is depending on somebody else for my happiness.”

I found this thought provoking quote in Richard Bach’s book [1] Illusions, The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah. I know I used to spend much of my energy unknowingly trying to impress the world with what I said, or my material things, or my accomplishments. But this quote made me think from a new perspective.
